The Posterior Muscle Chain Pitchers
Humans organize themselves in 2 ways with regard to gravity & this plays an important role in movement and technique.
If COG passes ⊥ through the hip joint, it would be difficult to move.
We always need balance consolation, some prefer to do this by bringing COG to the front & others by bringing it back!
The posterior muscle chain is more active in athletes whose COG is in front of the hip joint
They have a higher starting position & the shoulders/head will initiate movement while the pelvis tilted backwards in the preperation phase.
Example:
BLAKE SNELL & RANDY JOHNSON = PM muscle Chain Athletes
* Generates power from bounce (leg extension – back muscle chain)
* Supinator
* Plyometric
* Muscle lengthens
* Energy recovery
* Catabolic
* Needs more recovery.
