From 87 to 93 MPH: What Changed Everything for This Pitcher

It wasn’t a new drill. It wasn’t weighted balls. It was #MotorBall

A few weeks ago, we received a powerful story from one of the coaches who completed our #BaseballActionID course.

He told us about a pitcher he works with — a kid who had been stuck for years — until something shifted.

The pitcher went from 87 to 93 mph.

Not over a year. Not after a winter of velocity programs. It happened within weeks — and no, it wasn’t magic.

It was Motor Preferences. And it was BaseballActionID that gave this coach the lens to finally unlock it.

Let us walk you through what he shared.

The Backstory

This pitcher was strong, smart, and determined. But no matter how much effort he poured in, the radar gun wouldn’t budge. Worse: he had developed lingering discomfort in his shoulder and elbow.

The coach had done what most of us do — checked mechanics, tested mobility and added a throwing program. Some small improvements. Nothing breakthrough.

But after going through the Natural Blueprint, the picture changed

The Real Breakthrough

It became clear:

👉 He had been throwing from a slot that looked right to everyone but felt completely off to him.

👉 The “fixes” he’d received over the years had gradually moved him away from his natural blueprint.

👉 The arm slot he used to throw from as a younger kid — the one coaches had told him to “clean up” — was actually his most stable, powerful, and natural pattern.

The Shift

So the coach did one thing:

✅ He gave the athlete permission to move like himself again.

Within weeks:

  • His velo jumped from 87 to 93 🔥
  • His command improved
  • His arm felt healthy for the first time in years

No gimmicks. No hacks. Just alignment — between how he’s wired and how he moves.

Why This Matters

What BaseballActionID offers isn’t just another certification. It’s a complete framework.

It allows coaches to see their athletes differently — to stop forcing players into models, and instead unlock the model already inside them.

💥 Performance goes up
💥 Injury risk goes down
💥 Confidence skyrockets

Final Thought

This 87-to-93 jump didn’t happen because they trained harder. It happened because they trained smarter, by aligning the athlete with his natural motor system.

And this isn’t a one-off. We hear stories like this all the time — from high school, college, and even pro ball.

That’s exactly why BaseballActionID exists — to help us better understand and support the way athletes are wired to move.
